A is for Affirmation #atozchallenge

"As the morning Ascends upon us, a sense of Anticipation Arises As the A to Z challenge enters the Atmosphere." ~MontanaView~

A is for Affirmation, or as I was taught, setting goals and affirming they will come true by writing it as if it has already happened. Something I know all to well considering as a youth/pre-teen it was already being pounded into my brain.

I have no resentment for the word, I love it. Affirmation is a beautiful word. It has been the inspiration for my entire life. If only I used it more, I would be on the right track now.

One of the most influential icons in our family describes it well, "If you want to reach a goal, you must 'see the reaching' in your mind before you actually arrive at your goal." Zig Ziglar

"Each day brings a chance to live life Anew" ~MontanaView~

Seeing beyond the things we "think" we really want

When you truly want something to manifest in your life and your doing all the right things "writing those affirmations, pinning it on your vision board, visualizing, meditating, etc.". Remember, if it isn't happening, it wasn't meant to be or maybe it wasn't meant to happen at this time. Remain positive and when you notice something else that truly made you happy, accept and be grateful for that. It may have been the answer all along.

Day 14 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - How Light Can You Get?

Day 8 for me and skipping around a bit trying to get caught up...

I'm not perfect, missed a couple of days again, family and other interruptions, but I persevere. Once again davidji from the Chopra Center “truly magnificent“. I felt as light as a feather. Floating above the ocean, Paris, Las Vegas, running with a bear, running next to a wolf, watching myself drive my new car and parking it at my dream house. It felt amazing. I felt no pain in my shoulders. I felt nothing other then a small wave of excitement in my abdomen. I can only describe the sensations as light and peace. Namaste

Making your intentions come to you

Make your choice of visual to look at before going into meditation; a book, poster or something similar with your affirmations. Also called visions and/or intentions. Review each of them carefully. Meditate for 15 - 30 minutes, take a deep breath and now let it go and continue on with your day. Remember our spirits/souls need continued guidance, so keep doing this even after you have acquired all the things you have intended.

Can't take it back

The other day I said something that I have been pondering over and over in my mind and I can't take it back.

Have you ever been in a social situation where you feel out of place? I am in that position everyday at work. I am at the "bottom of the food chain" or at least pretty close to it as far as my position in this company.

My co-workers were discussing a topic that I find very entertaining. I spend a lot of my time doing just what they were talking about. Notice I don't even want to say it, but I will "Gambling". They were mostly making comments about people who do this, not quite in a negative way like you would suspect, but I felt I wanted to add my two cents to the conversation.

In Montana you are allowed to win a maximum jackpot of $800 on one win (excluding any Casino on an Indian Reservation). I have lived in Montana 7 years, but in the last year alone, I personally have hit 5 $800 jackpots. My secret, VISUALIZATION! The book "THE SECRET"!

I felt compelled to speak up. The first comment made was "where did you hear that Deepak Chopra?" (whom I admire dearly), and some of them just looked at me in awe. Then I said "no, THE SECRET". The conversation seemed to end there.

Considering I haven't told many people of my passions, I feel really uncomfortable about it. I have also learned you should keep your goals and intentions to yourself and not share them with others that don't have the same goals or intentions, but in this situation I was compelled.

I decided not to let it bother me. I like who I am, I just usually don’t share with them. So now I am unsure what they are thinking and since I can't take it back, I guess I will just accept that they finally know a little piece of me that they didn't know before.

Living a life of balance through meditation

Living a life of balance can mean many things. I believe meditation to be the first step to creating balance in your life.

Meditation has been descibed by some as a powerful tool in the process of self-recognition and mental transformation. Through the use of certain chants, mantras, visualizations, and breathing techniques amongst many others, meditation creates stillness and concentrates one’s awareness in the mind. On the surface, it is a relaxation method used to nurture inner peace and quiet the external world. It can be used by anyone, even those with limited cognitive ability, and is often used to increase creativity, promote self-awareness and help people live more spiritually oriented lives. On a deeper level, many regard mediation as one of the most vital practices on the road to spiritual enlightenment and freedom.

There are many other proven benefits accumulated from the art of meditation;

  • Quiets your mind to allow for creative thinking.
  • Centers your universe
  • Reduces stress
  • Slows the aging process
  • Promotes healing
Start with 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening, and eventually work up to 30 minutes per session.
The more we focus on self improvement the better we feel and the more we get out of life. My intentions with this blog is to help others while helping myself reach a higher level of being.
