Say YES to a health day

Release stress, achieve an increased feeling of inner peace and self awareness, find clarity. Say YES to a health day! Do only what makes you feel good for one day and it's free.

Choose a day where distractions are low. Like when the kids are in school or your significant other is out of the house. Pre-plan the day before so you will have everything you need. Turn off the phone if you can or set it to vibrate or silent, only checking it occasionally. Only allow yourself one hour of household tasks. Ignore the laundry, it will be there tomorrow. Best if you have to pack lunches or anything for your family to do it the night before.

My Journey Continues

The 21 Day Meditation Challenge has ended, but my journey continues...

I have finally reached Day 21 for me. I feel more alive then I ever have and today is very enjoyable. We are having a dinner of Corned Beef and Cabbage and I couldn't be more excited. Amazing the things we can get excited about when we feel enlightened. Listening to music by Dr. Andrew Weil and Kimba Arem, feeling meditative peace. I hope everyone is enjoying this St. Patricks Day surrounded by beauty and love. Namaste

A major transformation has occured

Day 22 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - Achieving Perfect Health

Day 16 for me and a bonus day from the Chopra Center
A major transformation has occurred. During the last month, I have been meditating regularly along with yoga and getting to know the Chakra system. My relationship with my spouse has been in turmoil for a very long time. During this journey, the one thing that stayed with me is “eliminate the things that do not serve you”. After many months of indecisiveness’ I decided to end my 10 year relationship for good. Or so I thought...

Day 19 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - The Medicine of Love

Day 19 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - The Medicine of Love, Day 13 for me

I am embracing this challenge more each day. I frequently meditate on my own, but it has never been a daily routine. I find I am more calm, less quick to judge the moment, I can prioritize my life better, and I experience less anxiety.

This is what Deepak Chopra must mean by The Law of Least Effort from his book “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success“. The harder we try, the more frustration it seems to add to our life and well-being. It seems that I am doing tasks without really noticing. Tasks that I would normally find tedious and annoying. This alone is a major transformation of my consciousness and well-being.

Today’s meditation The Medicine of Love made me see that loving yourself completely, even the things you don’t like about yourself, opens your heart to more love. My intent for today is continued health and healing.
Have a beautiful day... Namaste

Day 16 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - Quantum Healing

Day 10 for me.
As quoted on the 21 Day Meditation Challenge website in reference to Quantum Healing; "The first step in any healing process is acceptance. Once we accept this moment exactly as it is, we can heal. In today’s meditation, we’ll cultivate powerful acceptance of the present, opening to the experience of the wholeness, well being, and love that awaits us in every moment."

The first step in the healing process is acceptance. I pondered this in today’s meditation. A lot of pain has built up in my system. I find myself resenting my significant other frequently. I want to release these emotions and focus on the thought "everyone is doing their best from their state of consciousness". I believe my father cultivated this blame of others for my situation and yet he to is doing the best he can from his state of consciousness. I love my family and would never want to inflict pain or hard feelings. I am only incorporating this into my self-awareness of why I do certain things that are painful to others.

Taking responsibility for your actions, no mater where they manifested and releasing them into the universe is part of the healing process. My intent today is to change this behavior before it manifests in my children. We must all take responsibility for our own actions. Namaste

Day 12 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - Daily Rituals for Wellbeing

Day 9 for me in the 21 Day Meditation Challenge.

The intent today was to think of 2 things you want to let go of in your daily routine and replace them with daily rituals for well being, health, joy, and peace of mind. I instantly knew what does not serve me as we all do. I struggled with relaxing today, my mind was very active. I believe it is because the very thing I want to rid my life of is also very imprinted on my soul. I will release these routines from my life.

One daily ritual is to think of 3 things you are thankful for before going to sleep at night. I will start here;
  1. I am thankful I live in such a beautiful area.
  2. I am thankful our family took a walk yesterday and the sun was shining brightly.
  3. I am thankful for my wonderful children. They are so full of creativity, energy and joy. I am so blessed...
I intend to also accomplish Day 13 meditation today when my mind is more peaceful. Then I will at least be caught up, which the important part to me is that I continue even when I miss a day. I will succeed at 21 Days of Meditation. Namaste

Day 14 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - How Light Can You Get?

Day 8 for me and skipping around a bit trying to get caught up...

I'm not perfect, missed a couple of days again, family and other interruptions, but I persevere. Once again davidji from the Chopra Center “truly magnificent“. I felt as light as a feather. Floating above the ocean, Paris, Las Vegas, running with a bear, running next to a wolf, watching myself drive my new car and parking it at my dream house. It felt amazing. I felt no pain in my shoulders. I felt nothing other then a small wave of excitement in my abdomen. I can only describe the sensations as light and peace. Namaste

Day 11 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - Tapping into the Energy of Food

Day 7 for me.

Missed yesterdays meditation. Got up this morning determined to get back on track. Amazing Meditation! I recently completed a diet and in just 6 months 56 lbs. melted away as the direct result of eating healthy and envisioning a perfect body. See My hCG Diet Success Story blog. This meditation brought me back to that state of mind by helping me remember how much I enjoyed the delicious foods and vibrant colors. My body feels healthy and nourished again. Thank you for bringing me back...

Day 8 of 21 Day Meditation Challenge - The Body-Mind Connection

Day 8 Meditation - Day 5 for me.

The Body-Mind Connection. In today’s meditation the intent was to experience divine qualities, including love, gratitude, compassion, joy, ecstasy, peace, and equanimity. Deepak Chopra is so amazing. The time seemed to stand still. Only around the end did time enter my mind. I was in a full state of consciousness. My body is more relaxed today. Just as I intended, I was blessed with peace. Thank you

Momminess Syndrome vs. Empty Nest

You never really know how much you can miss your children. My oldest daughter moved 780 miles away about a year ago and she just got married. I was at the wedding, which was fabulous even with all the chaos surrounding it, but I also left my 2 younger boys ages 13 and 16 with family for a month in the same location. I am feeling complete "momminess syndrome" (that is my new word). I am missing them very much.

You always know your children are dear to your heart. They inspire, motivate and keep you moving forward. This is why their absence brings on a whole new feeling of emptiness that you feel in the deepest part of your soul. You realize your whole life is based on their well-being and without them your purpose is imposed upon.

You start to reanalyze your life, because soon they will have lives of their own and you will not always be able to protect them. This is what I now call the "momminess syndrome", not "empty nest"!

My mother is a perfect example of a nest that has never been empty. After having 5 children and adding 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, her home is always filled with love and family. She is an amazing women, and she still takes care of all of us. I don't know if she would even know what to do without so many distractions. It is her strength and courage that helps me to know my nest will never be empty.

There are many good things about these realizations; you know that you have to live for yourself too. You will always have so many new experiences that still involve your children and hopefully grandchildren.

I am missing my children, looking forward to the future and living for today...

An obvious inspiration

It seems that a rainbow has many meanings and it’s the obvious inspiration.
When I see a rainbow, a smile streams across my face and I experience a sense of peace.
The beauty of the colors, the ominous sky behind it or dreaming of the “Pot of Gold” at the end of a rainbow (the childhood fable that we all believed) but is still an inspiration that brings us hope.
For just that moment it seems you can accomplish anything.
It appeared as I was waiting for my son outside of a school event and it took my breath away as he walked under it. One of four joys of my life and they all make my life beautiful...…

Daily Challenge

Challenge yourself daily to see the good in life. Look around you at the beauty in your life. Look at your children and smile, because even with all their imperfections, they are beautiful. Look at the rippling water, the swaying trees, and the green grass along the sides of the road and take in their tremendous beauty.
One of my families most favorite past times is to take a drive and count all the white tail deer we see. We have a really good time and get out in nature. I feel alive with passion for life. Just that moment of gratitude changes your life.

Living a life of balance through meditation

Living a life of balance can mean many things. I believe meditation to be the first step to creating balance in your life.

Meditation has been descibed by some as a powerful tool in the process of self-recognition and mental transformation. Through the use of certain chants, mantras, visualizations, and breathing techniques amongst many others, meditation creates stillness and concentrates one’s awareness in the mind. On the surface, it is a relaxation method used to nurture inner peace and quiet the external world. It can be used by anyone, even those with limited cognitive ability, and is often used to increase creativity, promote self-awareness and help people live more spiritually oriented lives. On a deeper level, many regard mediation as one of the most vital practices on the road to spiritual enlightenment and freedom.

There are many other proven benefits accumulated from the art of meditation;

  • Quiets your mind to allow for creative thinking.
  • Centers your universe
  • Reduces stress
  • Slows the aging process
  • Promotes healing
Start with 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening, and eventually work up to 30 minutes per session.
The more we focus on self improvement the better we feel and the more we get out of life. My intentions with this blog is to help others while helping myself reach a higher level of being.
